Thoughts on switching to T-mobile with the 6p
I'm presently on Project Fi, and I know that it often uses T-mobile towers. Recently I saw an article on the AC website: The T-Mobile Galaxy S7 just got a whole lot faster | Android Central , and I was wondering if what they are doing to the Galaxy S7 and LG V20, would be applicable to the Nexus 6p and/or 5x. For reasons too long to explain, I'm thinking about switching because my wife and I will be traveling cross country for a while, and I like the thought of using the phone for unlimited data and particularly the "no charge" data for things like Netflix, etc. (I know that unlimited is not actually unlimited, but since it is unlimited for certain streaming sites, it does make it more appealing). Since we'll be travelling, my wife planned on keeping Verizon, so I'm not worried about phone or data service when necessary. I'm thinking T-mobile for personal streaming use and if these increased speeds would apply to the 6p, then I may pull the trigger on switching.
FWIW, I concede that Verizon has better service overall, but have been mostly happy with Project Fi. I'm just wanting to know if I'll get increased speeds, even if it is just at times, if I switched carriers. Any thoughts on this? Anyone using T-mobile now and noticing better speeds/service since they've been upgrading recently?
