Rooting my Nexus 5X. Need Help

So I am attempting to root my N5X for the first time and currently stuck with a "unable to mount storage" error. Has anyone ran into this before and was able to solve the issue? I would like to fix the issue without having to Wipe the stock install from google from the device.
